2015 Portland, Sally and I had the pleasure of lunch with Tony Thacker and his mum Marie. Tony Thacker is the Executive Director of the World of Speed Motorsports Museum in Wilsonville Oregon with a focus on educating and entertaining people with interest in motorsports. World of Speed is located just south of Portland. Tony and Jimmy Shine ran their Model A Street Roadster for several years at Bonneville and chronicled it in Hot Rod. I have known Tony for more than 25 years starting in the Cadzzilla days and his much valued advice has been like those two little fellas that stand on your shoulders. One is white and gives good sound advise while encouraging the best behavior, the other one is red with a devils tail .... and you know the rest.
In the above photo Tony is the one on the right and even though it's black and white, based on his expression, it's not hard to imagine the color of his outfit.
Tony has been advisor, agent and ambassador for this project for many years and despite the above photo, solid rational advice based on first hand experience.
