After years of working with old cars and old car people you come to the impression that all the good stuff is connected in some random way. Tony Napoli at American Speed, who is loaning the Buick V6 and (if he is still as crazy as he was when he started American Speed at 18 years old) will be one of the drivers along with Dennis Kelso, he called last week to see if I could arrange to get a 5800 pound 1934 Packard Super 8 from upper Michigan to the Detroit area. Tim Godbout and Tom Stepp came to the rescue and two days later it rolled in. The plan now is that the Buick V6 will make it's way to Birmingham and the Packard will move to American Speed on it's way to Norway. It's a truly grand car, diamond in the rough, sort of like my late great uncle Norman, fairly worn by the time we crossed paths but in his day, a serious player!
